Background

 

This guide refers to the setup and configuration of Sendside SecureSync for Outlook. If you're not familiar with SecureSync or require additional background information, please view our  Getting Started with SecureSync Articlebefore proceeding.


Challenge & Response Messages



Sending Challenge and Response messages from Sendside SecureSync for Outlook is easy. Although you can simply use the Message Handler code below, it’s recommended that you create a template and simply add the Message Handlers to your outlook signature.  This will allow the Message Handlers to appear by default each time you compose a new secure message.

 

The specific syntax to instruct SecureSync to send this message via the Challenge and Response method is:


Please note that there are minimum and maximum character limits:
Challenge: Minimum character limit is 10 characters; Maximum is 150 characters.
Response: Minimum character limit is 4 characters; Maximum is 50.

Here’s an example:

Note that the challenge, response and any other values will not be included in the recipient’s message. They are only used to instruct Sendside SecureSync how to process the message.
